 Our Missions and Ministries Minimize

Here at Oakland, we have lots of exciting opportunities for ministry within our church family, including

  • Exciting and vibrant music ministry
  • Active Youth program
  • Small Group ministry

We believe strongly in missions and outreach, and encourage our members to actively participate in ministering outside of the Oakland family.  Some of the outreach programs we are involved with include:

  • We are partnered with a sister church in West Virginia, providing both prayer, financial and physical support, with regular missions trips to minister to the community and the congregation.
  • Turning Point
  • An active men's and women's prison ministry
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Radio ministry
  • Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse

 Music at Oakland! Minimize

The music program here at Oakland is full of ways for us all to praise our Lord with a joyful noise!

  • Our Worship Choir focuses on teaching the primary spiritual discipline of worship.  They sing Sundays during our worship service.  Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 8:00pm - 9:00m, and Sunday mornings at 9:45am.
  • Our Praise Team leads contemporary worship songs before our Sunday morning worship services.
  • Our Youth Praise Team is responsible for the music during worship on the fourth Sunday of the month.
  • Our Handbell Choir offers music periodically throughout the year.

In addition, we have regular special music during our worship services and special musical events are offered during the entire year, with special offerings during the Christmas and Easter seasons. 

We would love to have you join us as we lift our voices and instruments to the Lord in song.

 Prison Ministry Minimize

Our involvement with prison ministry happens every Monday & Tue, when the prison ministry teams leads both men & women in Home Bible Study at the prisons.  We also have an active prayer ministry for those who participate while the are behind the walls of the prision. 

When a member of the Home Bible Study is released, we continue to offer prayer and mentoring, and encourage them to continue their spiritual walk by attending church.

Our members receive training and support for this very important ministry.  If you feel led to participate, please contact the office and we will put you in touch with a team member.

 Turning Point Minimize

Turning Point is a ministry that reaches out to abused women.  Our members assist in providing spiritual guidance though use of the weekly Home Bible Study, prayer, mentoring, as well as financial support to help these women turn their lives around.
